New Custom Built Bikes for Trail Journeys Fleet
Trail Journeys are developing an new bike specifically for the trail and from our 10 years experience on the trail we have identified areas that are important to our customer and our service depart. These include puncture proof tyres, good quality bearings, comfortable riding position with high rake stems for maximum comfort, comfort saddles and many other features identified by our staff.

Trail Journeys launches Wine/Railtrail Combo
New for the 2011 - 2012 season will be a combination Guided Wine and Railtrail experience taking in some of the best cool climate vineyards in New Zealand. For the wine experience, Appellation Central Wine Tours out of Queenstown will take you on a tour of some famous wineries in the Bannockburn area including lunch and then deliver you to Trail Journeys for the start of your Railtrail experience.

Increasingly we have people driving to Central to start the Railtrail. A good TIP for those people is for you to drive to Middlemarch and leave your car with us for either secure inside or outside storage. Catch our bus that day to Clyde where you stay the night and then start the trail the next morning, cycling back to your car. This way you don't have to wait for the bus to take you back to Clyde. As most people will finish around lunch time, if they do 4 days on the trail, you will effectively be 5 hours earlier on the road home or to your next destination. Trail Journeys success in Middlemarch !
Trail Journeys new base in Middlemarch has been an outstanding success. With a combination of services offered including hot showers, internet access, merchandise, bike hire and car storage, the Middlemarch base fills the need for a top class facility. The 24 hour fuel from our newly installed card pumps has also provided the local community with a reliable fuel service for the area.

Otago Central Rail Trail Departure Dates for Independent Riders
Trail Journeys is set up to cater for any day in the year that you may want to ride the trail as an independent, regardless of your groups size. We have the ability to offer this because we pre-book accommodation with the key accommodation places along the Trail. Please be aware that you should book early.

Bike Hire for Independent Riders
Hireage rates are $40 per day per bike for comfort and mountain bikes. For more details and other products for hire please go to our Bike Hire page.
Accommodation for Independent Riders
Accommodation each night will vary from around $10 p/p per night for a tent site at the various camping grounds at each major town along the Trail to between $70-$100 per person for ensuite style accommodation. There is also more upmarket accommodation available and we can price this for you on a as you come basis. Please check out our Accommodation Options page for more information.
Baggage Transfer for Independent Riders
Baggage transfer rates are $10 per day per bag (up to 10kg) For more details please refer to our Baggage Transfer page. We also offer a bag transfer service to the end of the trail for those with larger bags that they may be using as part of an extended holiday This service is $15 per bag
Transport for Independent Riders
After your adventure we will transport you back to your start in our modern comfortable buses for $60 (including your bike). For other products and more details please refer to our Transport page.
Car Storage for Independent Riders
We will store your transport under cover (and alarmed) for $10 per day. More more details please refer to our Car Storage page.
