Increasingly we have people driving to Central to start the Railtrail. A good TIP for those people is for you to drive to Middlemarch and leave your car with us for either secure inside or outside storage. Catch our bus that day to Clyde where you stay the night and then start the trail the next morning, cycling back to your car. This way you don't have to wait for the bus to take you back to Clyde. As most people will finish around lunch time, if they do 4 days on the trail, you will effectively be 5 hours earlier on the road home or to your next destination. Trail Journeys are pleased to supply display material for a promotion in Hedgehog Bikes Botany store. The display featured the Giant Bikes that Trail Journeys use on the Railtrail and created at lot of interest in the store. Click here to view the display

Please don't book airfares prior to getting your accommodation sorted on the trail. We are increasingly finding people are expecting that accommodation will be available and are booking airfares prior to booking accommodation. This not only leads to disapointment, but also loss of money on airfares. Please contact us for information on availability, we will only be to pleased to help.
Trail Journeys specialises in catering for larger groups who may want to ride the Otago Central Rail Trail together.
Companies. We have looked after companies cycling the trail from one to four days as part of team building exercises (along with other activities designed especially for the relevant groups). Other companies have utilised the trail experience with us to say thank you to their team for a great year in their business. Tour companies also use us to include the Rail Trail experience as part of a bigger trip throughout New Zealand.
A recent example of this has been Inspire, Cycle, Adventure and Wine Tours whose group rode the tour with us recently. Check out the chief guide Joey Waide's summary of the trip in our testimonals section.
School Groups. We have taken groups of up to 60 school students out on the trail for a multi-day Rail Trail experience. Selwyn College from Christchurch cycled the trail with us in early September 2006 and 2007 in perfect blue sky weather. The girls, their parents and teachers all had a great experience.
Sporting Groups. New Zealands SILVER FERNS Netball team biked with Trail Journeys on the Railtrail for 3 days in October 2007. They were on the Railtrail with Trail Journeys as part of a team building exercise leading into the World Champs in November 07.
