The day tour from Dunedin travels through a very picturesque part of the Trail in the expansive Strath Taieri Valley. We pass the scene of the Hyde Train disaster where 21 people were killed in 1942 because of the actions of a drunk train driver who had his train travelling too fast and could not take the right hand corner.
