A great day trip from Dunedin travelling through the Strath Taieri and Maniototo areas to Ranfurly in our modern shuttle, cycling one of the most beautiful parts of the Otago Central Rail Trail between Daisybank and Hyde and enjoying the scenic splendour of the Taieri Gorge Railway trip home. We organise everything for you bike rental, transport, morning tea and packed lunch. Plenty of chances for photos and being tempted by the local cafes and hotels along the trail.
1 Day Independent Tour - Taste the Trail - ex Queenstown
If you only have limited time to spare you can still see and enjoy some of the best parts of the Otago Central Rail Trail. The Poolburn Gorge section is regarded as one of the most spectacular areas on the trail and if you are lucky you may see one of the rare Falcons which nest in this area. This package starts by bus from Queenstown at 7.45am and we have you on your bike at Auripo Road by approx 10.30am
2 Day Independent Tour - ex Clyde
If you only have a couple of days to spare you can still see and enjoy the best part of the Otago Central Rail Trail. Starting at Clyde, where you are taken by bus to Omakau to begin cycling on the first day the 43km to Wedderburn. Pass through the Poolburn Gorge, the township of Oturehua, where you can visit the Historic Hayes Engineering Works and the enchanting Gilchrists Store.
